I got a text from Capt. Patrick Smith to go do some mulletrun fishing in the early morning. It was a chance I might not refuse. We began by going offshore into the Atlantic Ocean and trying to find mullet bait fish leaping and going bananas showing that predator fish were chasing them. We were tossing live finger mullet on Mustad 5/0 circle hooks to the predators. Very little was going on offshore, so we went inshore. We discovered a great deal of mullet around specifically near seawalls and mangroves. I talked to a big Jack Crevalle that spit the hook and after that we captured a great 27″ snook. After that the fishing decreased. At the end of the go professional video we headed out once again that night and didn’t capture any fish however did toss the cast web and captured a lot of bait. The mullet run remains in full speed.
